Location:
The island of Ranongga sits within the South Pacific Ocean, part of the New Georgia Islands group of Western Province, Solomon Islands.
Description
Ranongga is a long and skinny island (28km) with a mountainous interior. It’s highest point is Mt. Kela (869m).
Communities
There are numerous villages along the coast lines of Rannonga. These communities each have a variety of Christian churches.
Since the 2007 earthquake hiking paths between the villages have been disrupted and the most common form of transport is by boat (typically canoes with an outboard motor).
